Real Good Fish offers weekly distributions of sustainably caught local seafood. In order for you to enjoy your Real Good Fish community supported fishery (CSF) experience, please read the following document carefully as it outlines the policies that keep our CSF working smoothly for all of our members.
About Our Fish
All seafood will be sourced from California waters, and from the Central Coast whenever possible, depending on weather, regulations, and ocean conditions.
Processing: Finfish species (black cod, salmon, rockfish, etc.) will generally be filleted. If you select the option for whole fish shares, you'll receive gutted whole fish when we are delivering species that are appropriately sized for our share exchange: these are mainly rockfish, Petrale sole, and black cod. For larger species, our whole fish members receive fillets also. Sand dabs are provided “pan ready” to all members - with no head, guts or fins, for optimal flavor, quantity and quality. We cannot guarantee that fillets will be free of bones!
Availability: Real Good Fish cannot guarantee the delivery of specific seafood products at specific times in specific quantities. If weather or other conditions prevent our fishermen suppliers from catching marketable product, Real Good Fish will notify you and either we will provide you with a fresh-frozen alternative or your account will be credited for the value of the weekly share.
As a CSF member, I understand it is my responsibility to pick up my weekly share of seafood from my chosen pickup location during the designated time frames. I understand that if I do not pick up my share within the distribution time frame, it will be donated to an interested party or facility. Here are the options if you can’t pick-up:
- Donate my share to the site host – requires no action from you.
- Make arrangements to have someone pick up my share and check off my name on the sign-in sheet. Your share also makes a fantastic gift!
- Set a delivery hold on your account when you don't want to receive a delivery. Delivery holds can be set up to 11:00 p.m. the night before delivery, but we really appreciate a few days notice for sourcing purposes.
We will provide you with an insulated cooler bag at the time you first join the CSF. Please bring the bag with you to the pickup site each week. Your share of fish will be packed in our large cooler, and you will transfer it to your cooler bag at the time of pickup. You are responsible for all seafood after picking it up! Fish needs to stay chilled until you are ready to eat it. Real Good Fish cannot be responsible for product that was inadequately stored following pickup.
Real Good Fish uses a web-based software program called Farmigo to track our share deliveries and process payments. In Farmigo you will create a unique account, set up your subscription, make payments, and be able to modify your subscription, if needed, in a few easy steps!
Our CSF operates year-round, and shares can be purchased at any time. When you make a purchase, you commit to buying 4, 8, 12, 26, or 52 deliveries of shares at that time. We do this for consistency – we need to know how many shareholders to fish for. Our minimum commitment for new members is 4 deliveries.
We accept payment via ACH/electronic check, credit cards, and personal checks. Members paying by check should mail them to Real Good Fish, 7532 Sandholdt Rd., Suite 5B, Moss Landing, CA 95039. If you choose to pay by check, please mail early for timely arrival, and indicate in the "memo" section of the check the name under whom the CSF account is listed.
When paying by ACH/electronic check or credit card, our online ordering platform will enroll you in automatic payments by default. You will automatically be charged whenever your account level drops to zero or below. For example, if you initially pay for 4 deliveries, you will be charged for another 4 deliveries after the first 4 deliveries. This will ensure that your account is paid in a timely fashion so that you never miss a delivery. It is the member's responsibility to manage this feature in their Farmigo account.
Upon signing up, a confirmation of your subscription details, pickup location details, and start date of deliveries will be automatically emailed to you. New accounts will be placed on hold for 3 days. This gives us time to source seafood for you. You will receive your first delivery on the closest delivery date after the 3-day hold.
As a CSF member, I agree to pay my account in a timely manner and keep my membership account information up to date.
Updating Your Farmigo Account
You can change your subscription at any time in Farmigo, and you will receive an immediate email confirming the change.
Real Good Fish communicates with its members mainly through email, which includes information on the fish, the fishermen, recipes, tips for handling seafood, policy issues, schedule changes, and the like.
As a member, I understand that it is my responsibility to open and read the emails (including payment notices) so that I stay informed. If my email address or any other contact information changes, I will change it in my Farmigo account promptly or contact firstname.lastname@example.org or (831) 332-1234 to update it.
Suspension of Service
Your share will not be delivered if you do not have money in your account. If we don't receive a timely payment from you, you will receive an email letting you know that a payment is due. Once you make a payment, you can check your "Next Distribution Date" to see when deliveries will resume.
After the minimum of 4 deliveries, you may cancel at any time. Any remaining balance in your account will be refunded via the method your payment was made.
